Mariann Holmen is new Norwegian Champion
20 participants – 13 in class A (skilled florists) and 7 in class B (students) – gathered on Saturday, September 13 at the Quality Hotel Hasle Linie in Oslo to compete for the Norwegian Flower Decoration Championship 2025. Florists from all over the country had traveled to Oslo to follow the competition, which takes place every two years and is organized by the Norwegian Florists' Association and Interflora Norge SA. The overall theme for this year's Norwegian Championship was: PAST- PRESENT- FUTURE! Florist in the present, meet the future with the eyes of the past.
Three tasks
All participants had to go through three rounds before it became clear who had made it all the way to the top. The first task was a photo task where they had to make a bridal bouquet. The task was submitted in advance and was judged based on the photos.
Saturday offered two tasks: "Let the vase bloom", which was a partially prepared task, where each participant brought a vase with a botanical expression. The vase had to be decorated with materials that were delivered on site. In the afternoon, a final task followed for the best placed in the two classes, where 7 from class A and 5 from class B had to decorate a party table, while a festive audience could enjoy their aperitif before the party dinner. Here, lavishly decorated tables decorated by Lisa Pålsson and her team awaited and later followed the evening's big highlight with the announcement of the winner of the 2025 Norwegian Championship.
